Housing will be provided in Theophilous Tower, Wallace Complex, and the Living Learning Center. Wallace Complex and the LLC are the “quiet dorms” for this year’s festival. Meals will be served at Bob's Place in the Wallace Complex located adjacent to those buildings. Most workshops will be held in Theophilus Tower, Wallace Complex, the LLC, Janssen Engineering Building and McClure Hall. Others will be held outside and in the PEB Dance Studio.
Reservations for meal plans and dormitory housing must be completed and paid for by Monday, July 23.
Dormitory rooms are available for both single and double occupancy. There are "quiet" dorms, and a less quiet dorm. You may choose to bring your own linens, or pay to include extra-long twin sheets, blanket, pillow and towels. See Festival Costs for pricing details.
The Wallace rooms have bunk beds, a small refrigerator and a vanity sink in each room. The rooms are arranged in two-room suites, sharing a bathroom with shower. This dorm is appropriate for families and student groups, and those who prefer to sleep at night! Each floor is co-ed, but leaders of student groups should be prepared to arrange room-mates and suite-mates according to gender, prior to the festival. UI Summer Conferences can work with you to reserve a floor or portion of a floor for your group. If you are in charge of a student group, please contact James Wagner at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may bring your own bedding or order linen service at a rate of $10.00 per bed for the conference duration.
The Tower will also be co-ed, but there is a common bathroom for each floor. UI Housing will decide which gender occupies the bathroom for a particular floor; you will not need to go more than one floor to find your bathroom. Tower rooms have two twin beds per room and small refrigerators. There is a common lounge in the center of each floor. The Tower basement has a common kitchen and lounge area open to all Tower residents. This is also where the late-night biras will be held. With the co-ed arrangement for Zimfest, the Tower is not appropriate for student groups. Linen service is available for $10.00 per bed.
The LLC is a complex of several buildings, only one of which will be reserved for Zimfest conferees. Each building houses dorm rooms, classrooms, a common kitchen and a lounge. LLC rooms have one or two twin beds per room. The LLC is composed of suites, each suite having from 1 to 4 rooms. Suites share a common bathroom and shower. Please note: linen service is automatic at the LLC. Charges are therefore higher at this facility.
The Zimfest registration operation will be conducted at the LLC, and UI Summer Conference headquarters and 24-hour desk are in the same building.
Check-in times for the UI dormitories can vary between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., depending on cleaning schedules of University Housing. Normally you should be able to check in at least between noon and 5:00 p.m. After-hours check-in can be handled at the 24-hour desk in the Living and Learning Center (LLC), across from the ZF registration room. Check-out on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 should be done no later than 11:00 a.m. to avoid additional charges.

Cafeteria Meal are available, and must be purchased in advance.
Meals include Thursday breakfast through Monday breakfast. Dinner is not included on Sunday evening. See Zimbabwean Dinner.
