Zimfest 2012 Vendors

Moscow, Idaho is the site for Zimfest 2012. This community on the Palouse is very supportive of music, dance, and the visual arts, with annual festivals and weekly farmers’ markets attracting ever-growing numbers of local and regional buyers. With many of the area folk already enthusiastic about Zimbabwean music due to the presence of local marimba bands, the Marketplace and afternoon concert stage combination will be the perfect catalyst to bring the sounds and sights of Zimbabwe to the Palouse.

This is why we are excited that you are considering joining us and selling your wares at the Zimfest 2012 Marketplace! Please read the following information carefully so that you can make an informed decision about applying to be a Marketplace vendor.

Thursday evening’s Welcome Concert, the afternoon concerts, and the Marketplace will all converge at Ghormley Park, a Moscow city park located in close proximity to both the University of Idaho campus and downtown Moscow. Ghormley Park is a popular green space used by young and old, with playground equipment, tennis courts, ball fields and picnic sites, and the Paradise Bike Path and Paradise Creek running beside it. It’s a great place to beat the summer heat with its full canopy of shade provided by the mature grove of hardwood trees.

We know that you will be pleased with the ease of unloading and setup in this location. There is a parking lot adjacent to the Marketplace, and vendors will be given complimentary parking permits to park in this lot during the festival. Hand carts will be available for short-term use in loading and unloading. In regards to security, we will have individuals camping in the park overnight as a security presence, and we are working to secure storage close by for overnight use.

The weather is typically warm and dry in Moscow in August. Please consider bringing or renting an easy-up canopy or tarp for maximum comfort and protection from the weather. (See Vendor Application for rental costs.)

We are pleased that you are considering coming to be a part of our Marketplace, and we look forward to seeing you in Moscow!

This year we are also encouraging food vendors to apply for vendor spots at Ghormley Park. Please note that all food vendors must make an application with the Idaho North Central District Health Department.
